Crema
The beautifully-named Crema (cream or custard in English), is one of the major provincial towns of Lombardy with a population of just under 35,000. It's situated halfway between the cities of Milan and Cremona and even closer to Lodi, which is just a 20 minute drive away.
The town is characterised by its wide shopping streets and cafe-strewn piazzas while its most famous sights are its "Torrazzo" clock tower, Crema Cathedral and another impressive church, the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Croce. |
